The Chinese characters “黑皮” phonetically sound like “happy” in English, but literally, they bear the meaning of “black exterior”; so the wordplay is used here to question is it HAPPY or BLACK? The “Happy or Black Book” is an alternative version of farmer's almanac. From the already delineated seasons, we could look into how out of touch are we with the ways we treat the environment and its creatures.
